Josie O’Malley has been an artist and graphic designer for the past forty years. Presently she is a freelance graphic designer, art teacher and fine artist specializing in oil, watercolor and pastel.
Josie graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa. and was hired by Westinghouse as an illustrator. Throughout the years her varied experience has included retail and creative advertising, all of which used her artistic skills. In her spare time, she taught art at the Columbus College of Art and Design.
With some fellow art associates, Josie helped form a company, Adsociates to provide advertising for nationwide companies i.e. from Ross Laboratories to AT&T in Ohio.
Her love of the arts spurred her on to teach graphic design, art, and computer graphics for thirteen years at Bradford School, a career college in Columbus, Ohio.
In 2008 Josie moved to Brentwood, CA. and has created a whimsical collection of oil paintings titled The Fantasy Forest Collection that has brought smiles to her grandchildren’s faces and her prints and giclees have begun to catch the attention of parents & art collectors.
Enjoyment of sharing art with others has directed Josie to The Grand Theatre Center for the Arts in Tracy, Ca. where she is teaching classes in watercolor. Her classes are held on Tuesdays during the fall and winter. She is also giving classes in Photoshop on Saturdays in January. Her stories of antics and experiences in the field of art are enjoyed by men, women and especially budding young artists attending her classes.
